Murphy’s Laws of TEOTWAWKI

 

 

1. Food, you still don’t have enough.

식량은 아무리 많이 보유해도 여전히 충분하지 않다.

 

2. People without back up shelters might be without shelter.

별도의 대피처를 준비해놓지 못한 사람들은 대피처 없이 지내야 할 것이다.

(거주지가 파괴,파손)

 

3. People with guns and no food are finding out that people with food have guns too.

식량없이 총만 가진 자들은,

식량을 가진 사람들은 반드시 총도 갖고 있다는 것을 알게 될 것이다.

 

4. Look hungry, they might leave you alone.

굶주려 보이는 자들을, 건들지 않을 것이다.

뺏을 것은 없고 오히려 빼앗길 위험만 있으니...

즉, 굶주려 보이면 관심을 끌지 않는다

 

5. Seed bank, the new source of wealth.

씨앗은행은 부의 원천이다.

 

6. Insects, It’s what’s for dinner.

각 종 곤충은 먹거리....

 

7. Gun shots, they attract unwanted attention.

총을 쏘면 원치 않는 주의를 끈다.

 

8. Ask everyone if they have food or water, Jedi mind tricks might work on desperate people.

아무도 자기의 물과 식량을 남에게 주지 않을 것이다.

 

9. Wood burning stoves, they are like pots of gold.

화목난로는 황금단지와 같다. 땅바닥에 불 피우는 것 보다 100배는 편하다

 

10. The less people you know, the better off you are.

(네가 도와줘야 할) 지인이 적을수록, 당신 형편이 더 나아질 것이다.

 

11. Mormons, suddenly they have a lot of new friends.

준비족들에게 새로운 친구가 갑자기 많아진다.

그 놈들 전부 도둑이거나 강도로 변 할 수 있다. 명심해라.

그러니, 평소에 준비족임을  떠들지 마라.

 

12. Friendly hungry people…..aren’t

배고픈 사람들은 우호적일 수 없다.

 

13. People who thought they could make it with just a survival knife are finding out they can’t

서바이벌 칼 하나면, 뭐든지 해결해 나갈 수 있으리라 생각했던 사람들은,

그게 불가능하다는 것을 알게 된다.

 

14. Satellite Dishes, they make great family dinner tables.

파라볼라 안테나는 식탁 대용으로 사용될 것이다.( 방송이 안되므로)

 

15. If invited to a dinner party and you can’t figure out what’s on the menu, it’s you.

디너파티에 초대됐는데, 메뉴가 뭔지 알 수 없을 때는 바로 당신이 식사메뉴다.

 

16. Houses full of food attract the unwanted envy of hungry people.

식량이 많은 집들은, 굶주린 사람들의 질투대상이 될 것이다.

 

17. Friends who show up without food are not good friends.

지 먹을 식량도 안 가지고 불쑥 나타난 친구는, 좋은 친구가 아니다.

 

18. Electricity, the good old days.

전기, 아~ 옛날이여.

 

19. Dog Food, who knew.

개 사료, (이렇게 먹을 만한지) 누가 알았겠어.

 

20. Cash, its a great way to start a fire.

지폐, 불쏘시개로는 그만이지...

 

21. Alternative energy, you’re kicking yourself now for not investing in it.

대체에너지를 준비하지 않았던 당신 스스로를 걷어차고 싶을 것이다.

 

22. Watching your garden grow, the new Sunday afternoon sport.

정원의 작물이 자라는 것을 살펴보는 것이 새로운 열광대상이다.

 

23. The Government, it will feed itself first.

정부란, 먼저 자기 배부터 불리는 존재다.

 

24. Large groups of people with guns make the rules.

총을 가진 큰 집단이, 바로 법이다.

 

25. Bad water & Montezuma’s Revenge, they have come to America.

오염된 물과 설사병이 만연할 것이다.

 

26. People who thought the Government would save them, found out that it didn’t.

정부가 구해줄 거라고 생각하던 것이 헛된 바램이었음을 알게 된다.

 

27. Hospitals, no longer a place of healing.

병원이 제기능을 상실할 것이다.

 

28. EMP, now everyone knows what it means.

'EMP' 의 뜻을 모든 사람들이 알게 된다.

 

29. Sandy dry soil, suddenly not such a cool place to live anymore.

농작물 재배에 불리한 땅은, 더 이상 살기 좋은 곳이 아니다.

 

30. If food is the new currency then fresh water is a hot commodity.

식량이 새로운 통화라고 한다면, 신선한 물은 인기상품이다.

 

31. Gold coins, they don’t taste very good.

금화라... 별로 땡기지 않는군.

 

32. Toilet paper, should have bought more of that stuff.

화장실용 휴지란, 미리 더 많이 사서 쟁여놔야만 했을 물건을 말한다.

 

33. Ham radio operators, who are the nerds now?

햄 무선통신사들을 누가 아직도 ‘따분한 멍청이’ 들이라고 그래?

 

34. Burning Green Wood = Smoke / Smoke = Attention / Attention = Bad

마르지 않은 나무를 태우는 것 = 지독한 연기 = 주의 끌기 = 나쁜 일

 

35. Trying to start a fire with two sticks? Should have stocked up on more matches.

막대기 두 개로 불 피우기? 성냥이나 더 모아놓지 그랬어...
